Abstract
We report the first case of endocarditis caused by Lactobacillus after an uneventful colonoscopy. The initial empiric treatment with the standard
regimen of penicillin-aminoglycoside failed; subsequent treatment with a combination
of antibiotics, selected according to the in vitro studies, was successful.
